The Colby Triathlon is a fundraiser for Colby Nordic. The funds raised help to support special training camps in the fall and winter for the entire team, which are key to developing our skiers.
The 2007-2008 season was our most successful ever with tons of snow, 3 athletes qualifying for NCAA’s, and another one earning first-alternate status to represent the US at World U23 Championships. The men’s Nordic team also won four races on the EISA collegiate circuit. 2008-2009 our team saw a historic first when Lucy Garrec won the first ever carnival race by a Colby skier. We also qualified two women to NCAA’s. 2009-2010 was another good year with a couple of podium finishes for our men’s team, Wyatt Fereday was second in both the Williams Carnival and Eastern Championships and the team again qualified two skiers for NCAA Skiing Nationals. 2010-2011 brought another successful season with highlights including a men’s second place team finish at the Middlebury Carnival and excellent performances from Wyatt Fereday and Jake Barton at NCAA Nationals. Four skiers qualified for the Junior Olympics, Olga Golovkina, Jared Supple, Levin Zars, and Paco DeFrancis. John Dixon was also named to the New England Nordic Association elite team for his top notch sprinting ability.
