2010 Colby Triathlon

Welcome to the 2010 Colby Triathlon!  The race will be held this year on September 25, 2010. The Colby Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon in Sidney, ME.  This triathlon is open to anyone and starts and finishes at Colby College’s own Hume Center, a property on scenic and crystal clear Messalonskee Lake. This triathlon is a great distance and venue for beginning racers as well as more experienced racers.

We strive to hold a great race for everyone with good music, lots of prizes, and a fun course. This year we have COLBY TRIATHLON BEACH TOWELS TO THE FIRST 100 INDIVIDUALS REGISTERED! Register early to make sure you get a towel.  Teams will be receiving water bottles instead of towels.

Xterra wetsuits is the official wetsuit sponsor of our 2010 race. Xterra has generously donated a wetsuit for both the first individual male and female out of the water. You will also be emailed information on buying or renting a wetsuit through Xterra.  Wetsuits are not required in compete in this race as the water stays reasonably warm, however, having one is definitely nice on a cold morning.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 24—–Alfond Athletic Center Lobby (Colby College Campus) click for directions to campus from maps.google.com

6 – 8 p.m. Packet pickup for racers. Pick up your numbers and schwag bags to avoid waiting in line on Saturday morning.  If you pick up your packet and bag on Friday, you don’t need to go to the on-site registration tent on Saturday. Go in main doors of the Alfond Athletic Center and look to your left. Our tables will be set up there.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 25, RACE DAY—– Colby-Hume Center, Messalonskee Lake, Sidney click for directions to the Hume Center from maps.google.com

6:45 – 8:45 a.m. Packet Pickup for racers – keep in mind, there is no day of race registration!

6:45 – 8:45 a.m. Transition area open. You need to pick up your packet before entering the TA, because you need to show your number to get in. Bodymarking upon entrance into the TA. Bike racks, first come first serve!

9:00 a.m. Race Start

11:15 a.m. Awards for top finishers and age group winners
